When to choose DTG
What DTG printing is best for
When your design has too many colors for screens or you don't need a huge run, DTG gives you full-color detail without the setup — on demand.
Detailed & photo art
Photographs, gradients and illustrations with dozens of colors print cleanly — impossible or costly with spot-color screens.
Small-batch orders
No screens to burn means no big setup, so short runs and one-offs stay affordable.
Full-color logos
Multi-color brand marks reproduce exactly without a per-color surcharge.
Merch drops & samples
Print a handful to test a design before committing to a big screen-print run.

What customers say
“I ordered sublimated bandanas for pets. While other vendors only offer one or two size options, Printology has three — plus three printing options. Their reps are unbelievably responsive, and I highly recommend them.”
“I had a last-minute, small-batch print job for custom bandanas. I worked with Cristian, who provided excellent customer service. My bandanas turned out great and were delivered on time. Highly recommend!”
“I was in a pinch when another vendor fell through. Printology had my order scheduled for delivery in 7–10 days and even upgraded my quality. Ten out of ten service — would highly recommend.”
FAQ
Direct-to-Garment (DTG) Printing questions, answered
How much does DTG printing cost?+
DTG is priced per garment by print size and quantity, with no per-color charge. It's more economical than screen printing for small runs and full-color art, and less economical for very large one- or two-color runs. Configure your order online for exact pricing.
What's the difference between DTG and screen printing?+
Screen printing presses spot-color ink through screens — best for bold designs in bulk. DTG sprays full-color ink directly into the fabric like an inkjet — best for detailed, many-color art and smaller quantities. We'll steer you to whichever fits your design and quantity.
Is there a minimum order for DTG?+
DTG has a low minimum, which is exactly what makes it great for small runs, samples and on-demand orders where screen-printing setup wouldn't make sense.
What fabrics work best for DTG?+
100% cotton and high-cotton blends give the brightest, most durable DTG results. Polyester and poly-heavy blends don't absorb the ink as well — for those, screen printing or dye sublimation is a better choice.
How many colors can DTG print?+
Unlimited. DTG reproduces full-color photos and gradients with no added cost per color, unlike screen printing.
Is DTG durable?+
DTG prints are soft and long-lasting when cared for properly — wash inside-out in cold water and avoid high-heat drying. For maximum durability on cotton, screen printing still leads.
