DTG & DTF Full-Color Printing questions, answered
Do you do DTG printing on t-shirts?
For apparel we use DTF (direct-to-film) transfers rather than DTG. DTF gives the same unlimited-color, photo-real result, works on cotton, blends and dark colors, and starts at 12 pieces. DTG is what we use for full-color cotton bandanas.
What's the difference between DTG and DTF?
DTG sprays ink directly into the fabric, so the print is part of the cotton and very soft. DTF prints your design onto a film that is then heat-pressed onto the garment, which lets it work on more fabrics and dark colors. Both print unlimited colors.
How much does full-color printing cost?
Bandana DTG is priced instantly in the online builder by tier and quantity. Apparel DTF is priced per transfer by print size and quantity, plus $35 setup per design and print location, and we confirm the full price within one business day.
What is the minimum order?
12 pieces for DTF transfers on apparel and for Eco-tier DTG bandanas. Standard and Premium DTG bandanas start at 72.
How long does it take?
Apparel with DTF transfers runs 14–15 business days after proof approval. DTG bandanas run 15–20 business days on Standard and Premium, or 26–40 on the lower-cost Eco tier.
Is full-color printing durable?
Yes, with normal care — wash inside-out in cold water and avoid high-heat drying. For the most durable print on cotton in one to six colors, screen printing still leads.
