The cut & sew process
How cut & sew bandanas are made
It starts before the print: the cotton itself is dyed to your chosen Pantone color first, so the whole bandana is part of your design. Nothing in this line comes off a shelf.
Then the design goes on with a special dye applied through the screen-printing process that penetrates the cotton and changes the color of the threads, instead of laying ink on the surface. That’s why the print shows on both sides, with a soft, natural texture — not the stiff, cracked feel of a heavy surface print.
Finally the printed fabric is cut by hand into 21″ × 21″ or 22″ × 22″ squares and each bandana is individually stitched.

There’s no stock bandana. We dye it in your color.
Single-sided bandanas print on blanks we keep on the shelf. Our Vintage Cut & Sew bandanas don’t: every run starts as undyed cotton that we dye from scratch to the Pantone Solid Coated shade you choose — a brand color, a team color, the exact shade your artwork sits on. Any code in the book, at the same price as a popular pick.
Because it’s a dye we mix for your run, the bandana color counts as one of your design’s colors at setup, the same as each ink. On larger runs one design can go on several colors: two at 500 pieces, four at 1,000.
Your proof shows the dye before anything is run, and our proofing team confirms it against the Pantone chip — screen colors are approximations; the chip is the reference.

Does the print show on the back of the bandana?
Yes. The print goes all the way through the fabric, so the design shows on both sides, giving it a two-sided, double-sided look like traditional vintage bandanas.
Can the whole bandana be my brand colors?
Yes. The entire bandana, not just the logo, is color-matched to your PMS colors.
What does “cut & sew” mean?
Instead of printing on pre-made blank bandanas, we make each one from scratch: the fabric is printed with your design, then hand-cut and stitched into finished bandanas.
What’s the difference between these and your other custom bandanas?
These are our premium line, built from scratch with full print-through and edge-to-edge color matching. Our other custom printed bandanas are made on ready-made blanks: Classic screen printed bandanas from 24 pieces, and Full-Color dye-sublimated or digitally printed bandanas from 12.
What is the minimum order?
250 pieces per design. On larger runs one design can go on several bandana colors: two at 500 pieces, four at 1,000. For fewer, our single-sided custom bandanas start at 12 pieces in full color or 24 screen printed.
How much do they cost?
From $6.59 each at 250 pieces for a one-color design, setup included, and less per piece on bigger runs. The builder shows your exact price for your quantity, colors and size.
How long do they take?
About 4–5 weeks including shipping, because every bandana is made from scratch. Single-sided bandanas are faster: 6–11 business days for dye sublimation and 8–12 for screen printing.

Does a custom bandana color cost extra?
No. Every bandana in this line is dyed to order, so a hand-picked Pantone costs the same as a popular shade. The bandana color does count as one of the design’s colors at setup — a one-ink design on a red bandana is a two-color job — and the instant price already includes that.
